I was a fun of “love is ….” in my teens, that is, around the 70s! It was lovely to find this site. Would be nice to find some “love is…. ” related to children (yound adults…?) who leave home (I am suffering from the empty nest syndrom) and waiting for calls from my boys…. would be nice s’thing like … love is…. calling mum on Sundays…..

I love the Love Is… Cartoon in the Los Angeles Times. I collected the cartoon everyday for years. They always put a smile on my face.

I’ve always been a big fan of Love Is…I used to cut them out and put them in my photo albums. It reminds me of the days when my husband of 28 years were in intermediate (middle)school dating. Thank you for your gift of Love Is…Aloha from Hawaii

I love the “Love Is…”

I became a widow @ 34, 11 years ago. Harry, drove semi and always read the paper, and these clippings were his 1st mission when he opened the paper. No matter where he was driving there was a mailbox he mailed me my daily “LOVE IS …” cartoon strip for the day. I cherrish them. Is there a way I can get them on a daily e-mail to me? I’d love them on my home page when i open my e-mail!!! I thank God for kim’s ability to share her love, so Harry could do the same to me. m Thank YOU, THANK YOU !!! “B”

I love the Love Is quote’s. I have a shirt saying “Love is a hug a day!” (: And I got that shirt jan.1,2008! and I have it for one year but now I might make it a pillow because the shirt does not fit anymore. Anyway, thank’s for making love is!!!

I am so glad I found this sight. I love the “Love Is…” cartoons. When my hubby and I were dating, in the 70′s, we lived in different towns, so I would mail him letters on the “Love Is..” stationary that I had then. I have always thought they were so cute.

This was such a treat. I used to read love is everyday in the chicago suntimes as a kid. It was always in black and white and the couple was natural, never dressed. But these love is strips were still very touching and after 17 yrs gone from chicago, it really blessed my spirit to read the simple yet profound messages of love again. Thank you for sharing.

I have 78 origional printing plates used by the Hartford Courant, CN.. They are from the early to mid 70′s. Great for a collector if someone wants them let me know. Total weight for shipping is about 40 lbs

When I was younger I used to read them in the newspaper then as I got older they no longer placed them in the paper any more. I really enjoyed reading them would like to know if there is a book of them or catalog . Do they make collectables nick nacks or something like it. please let me know thankx. I too love the “love is” comic strip. I believe I was around 14-15 yrs. old when I collected “love is”. I’m 50yrs.young and still love it. If I could get it from a newspaper, I would surely again collect them. Thank you for putting them here so I can once again read “love is”.:)
